Novice Team …. ready to take the ice

Notes – from the Novice Team .. and check out the club’s Flickr page for more pictures

As you’ve probably already heard we placed 8th and had a great skate.  We reached Boston on Wednesday afternoon and went straight to an ice rink where the skaters were able to get grounded and just get the feel of ice after being on the plane for so long.   Novice had a rocky start at the official practice which included falls and stumbles. The rink also seemed to be slightly smaller than the rinks they normally practice on.   The skaters then went directly to an unofficial practice to fine tune and re-work the program.   We still had some problems but by the end of the practice the team was ready to take the ice and compete.  They had a great skate on Friday and finished the day with 8th place which was a considerable jump from last year and were very pleased.  During downtime they were able to venture out to the City of Boston for some fun time.  They visited lots of historical landmarks and did a lot of shopping.  Some of the girls had the opportunity to visit potential colleges too.
